Senior Teachers
Each teacher is assigned to a Senior Teacher, who acts as a mentor, looks after them and provides them with support and assistance.
Teachers receive regular feedback to help with their development. The Senior Teacher observes the teacher’s classes, meets with them to go through feedback, and also passes on any feedback we receive from students. Each teacher has an Individual Development Plan to set up tasks and goals for teaching skills they would like to work on.
Resource Centre
Our teachers have excellent facilities for preparing their lessons.
We have a well-equipped library (also accessible online) and Resource Centre with a full-time librarian, textbooks, magazines, printers, computers, laminator and Wi-Fi. We have a monthly newsletter for teachers with teaching tips and resources, as well as information about our team and clients.
Our methodology has been carefully developed on the basis of our experience of corporate language training. It includes effective elements for the rapid improvement of language skills.
1. Who is this methodology for?
It enables us to teach languages effectively to busy professionals, who can only devote a limited amount of time out of their busy schedule. It is suitable for students who do not have much time for self-study, preparation and homework.
2. What does this methodology offer?
It ensures that each lesson focuses on the student’s specific language needs. It teaches people to use speech in context, and effectively remove any barriers that naturally occur. Coach&Practise is constantly being perfected thanks to continued cooperation with our students.
3. How does it work?
Prepare
The first step of a successful course is the language audit, in which we map out the student’s knowledge and skills, at the same time finding out the student’s individual needs. This tells us if we need to concentrate on business language, conversation, confidence when speaking on the phone, or any other type of communication the student requires for their job. We select the teacher according to the student.
Coach
The style of lessons according to Coach&Practise runs counter to the lecture-style of teaching, and enables students to actively use the language. The method guides the student towards effectively learning the language by using visualisation, self-correction and finding the best way to communicate their ideas.
Practise
Language is a reflex, and is best mastered through active use. In their lessons, our students actively speak for up to 80% of the time, always in the target language. The lessons are logically linked together, plenty of practice helps students remember new language and motivates them to actively use it in their professional and everyday lives.
4. Our outstanding teachers
Using the Coach&Practise method very effectively improves the language level of each student. Our teachers are led by experienced Senior Teachers who support their further development through feedback and mentoring. We organise up to 80 different workshops for teachers every year, which builds on their skills and helps us to continuously perfect our methodology.

❝ What I like most about JCL is the ability for development within the company. While the support of the senior teachers and administration is spectacular, not many English centers provide opportunities for their teachers to do more than "just teach". ❞ I have represented JCL and EDUA Group for over three years and in that time have been very involved in my role as a professional language teacher. During this time I have met some interesting students through the school, which is one aspect I appreciate about working with them. Furthermore, there are a gamut of workshops, social events and responsibilities on offer, besides simply 'being in the classroom'. I was also impressed at how fast JCL responded to the pandemic, giving me an ample amount of classes online. 3. Jak to funguje?
Prepare
Prvním krokem úspěšného kurzu je jazykový audit, v němž mapujeme studentovy znalosti a dovednosti, stejně jako zjišťujeme jeho individuální potřeby. Tak nejlépe víme, zda se u studenta soustředit na obchodní řeč, konverzaci, jistotu při telefonické komunikaci nebo jiný způsob použití jazyka. Podle toho studentovi vybereme lektora.
Coach
Styl výuky podle Coach&Practise úplně vypustil přednáškový způsob a vede studenty k tomu, aby si řeč osvojili. Toho efektivně docílíme pomocí vizualizace, sebeopravování a hledáním ideální formy porozumění.
Practise
Jazyk je reflex a nejlépe si jej osvojíme jeho používáním. Naši studenti v lekci aktivně hovoří až 80% času, a to vždy v cílovém jazyce. Hodiny na sebe logicky navazují, procvičování vede k zapamatování jazyka a motivuje naše studenty k jeho aktivnímu používání v jeho pracovním i soukromém životě

5. Jak jsou spokojeni naši lektoři…
❝ Na práci v JCL se mi líbí možnost rozvíjet se dál v rámci společnosti. Podpora od senior lektorů a administrativy je jednoznačně skvělá, ale málokterá jiná škola dá lektorům možnost dělat i něco jiného kromě učení. V JCL a EDUA Group můžete vytvářet a vést workshopy pro lektory, organizovat tematická setkání, psát pro interní časopis, pomáhat s anglickými tábory a také vést ukázkové lekce pro klienty. Moc ráda si dám občas pauzu od výuky a věnuji se svým dalším zálibám – psaní pro časopis mi dává možnost kreativně se vyžít a zároveň zůstat součástí lektorské komunity. A samozřejmě nemůžu opomenout společenské akce, které se každý měsíc konají. Jako Community Manager ráda připravuji prostor pro setkání nových a zkušených lektorů – v JCL se pak všichni cítíme jako jedna velká rodina. ❞
❞ Na EDUA Group je hned několik skvělých věcí. Pro mě je to každopádně skutečnost, že se můžu jako lektor rozvíjet a zapojovat do různých projektů. ❞ V JCL působím více než tři roky jako lektor angličtiny. Za tu dobu jsem se díky výuce zde setkal se zajímavými studenty, což je každopádně jeden z důvodů, proč si práce v JCL a EDUA Group cením. Nadto mi ale škola nabízí celou škálu workshopů, společenských akcí a dalších výzev kromě prostého “být ve třídě”. Také jsem velmi ocenil, jak rychle JCL zareagovala na pandemii a převedla výuku do online prostředí. Jako rodilý mluvčí se kromě denní výuky zapojuji i do dalších projektů, které mě upřímně těší. Nejnovějším z nich je online workshop pro více než 100 lektorů, tvorba materiálů pro program S.E.N a příprava studentů na cambridgeské zkoušky. Za celou dobu svého lektorského působení si jen stěží vybavím pozici, která by mi dávala tolik možností jako ta v JCL.❞
